Newnan Campus - 80 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA, 30263.

Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

The Coordinator of Testing and Experience is a shared position between the Office of Accessibility & Testing Services and Newnan Student Services. This role is primarily responsible for administering accommodated and standardized testing; supporting accessibility services; and assisting with front-line student support. Beyond testing, the Coordinator also contributes to the broader mission of Newnan Student Services. As a shared role supporting both departments, this role assists with front-line student support and daily operations, including event coordination, front desk coverage, responding to student inquiries, and monitoring the student lounge to foster a welcoming and resource-rich environment. The Coordinator will work closely with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to promote equitable access and enhance student experience. The position reports to the Manager of Accessibility and Testing Services.

Responsibilities

  • Testing Services - Administer tests with accommodations to students; schedule tests and communicate with faculty regarding test appointments; receive tests and convert to alternative format if needed; proctor tests, including checking students in and ensuring they do not have access to inappropriate information; complete test proctoring forms; return tests to faculty; assist with administration of independent study tests, institutional tests, and national standardized tests; follow all procedures and administer tests as mandated; ensure test security, academic standards, and integrity are maintained at all times; assist individuals with solving obstacles to accommodation needs; increases campus understanding of issues affecting individuals with disabilities by delivering presentations, trainings, and workshops related to research and best practices if needed; stays current on knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, laws, regulations, standards, and systems related to test proctoring services.
  • Student Services Support - Provide front desk support and respond to general student inquiries; assist with preparing and supporting student engagement events and activities; monitor the student lounge to ensure a safe, inclusive, and well-maintained environment; support daily office operations and collaborate with campus partners to enhance the student experience
  • Event Management - Supports and hosts student engagement events by assisting with event planning, preparation, setup, execution, and takedown; provides day-of event coordination; serves during events to offer guidance, assistance, and a welcoming presence for students and guests; supports event logistics, materials, and space coordination; aids in purchasing event supplies and reconciling related expenses in accordance with institutional policies and procedures; collaborates with campus partners and community partners to ensure events are well-organized, inclusive, and effectively executed.
  • Accessibility Services - Supports the accommodations process by ensuring students are connected with the accommodations specialist and their needs are met during testing; share specialist contact information, facilitate introductions, assist with scheduling, and relay student concerns accurately; document any issues, communicate promptly with the specialist, and help maintain compliance with accommodation plans across sites.

Preference is given to applicants with experience in accessibility and/or testing services, student services, or related area in higher education.

Proposed Salary

$19.61 hourly. Paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Highly detail-oriented and organized in managing testing schedules and student accommodations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability. Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities efficiently. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively in fast-paced environments. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations. Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 15lbs Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment. Outdoor Environment - Work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of student support services, campus resources, and university processes related to testing, accessibility, and student engagement. Knowledge of compliance standards, confidentiality requirements, and institutional policies governing testing and accommodations. Knowledge of educational technologies, scheduling systems, and database management tools.

Skills

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to foster positive student and faculty interactions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, professional correspondence. Proficiency in database management, scheduling, and computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Suite). Skill in collaborating effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, staff, and external partners. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to support efficient testing operations.
