Lobo Ambassador:
CMPSRequired:1) Will work 3-20 hours per week.2) Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student for the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the academic year.3) Attend all training and mandatory meeting events or assigned functions and be consistent in attendance and responsibilities.4) Have no major current or pending disciplinary sanctions.5) Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA per year.6) Be in good standing with the University.7) Be eligible to work in the United States.8) Help prep the math and computer science labs.9) Support social media efforts of the department.10) Tutor students (as appropriate).11) Aid the supplemental instruction efforts of the department.

Enrollment Management Lobo Ambassador Job Description
Lobo Ambassadors exemplify the Lobo Experience and act as a guide and mentor to incoming Sul Ross students. Lobo Ambassadors will assist the Office of New Student Programs with the management and implementation of programming, including: NSO; Sully Showcase; Campus Tours; and other orientation / retention related activities. This includes but not limited to: acting as a guide for new students and families; introducing students to their academic departments; orchestrating icebreakers and community building activities during the semester; addressing questions and concerns from students in a professional manner; attending regular meetings; helping in planning events; and showing concern for the academic wellbeing of fellow students.

Lobo Ambassadors will be able to establish the following priorities for their time:

  • Academic Commitments;
  • Lobo Ambassadors Commitments;
  • Extracurricular Activities.

Lobos LEAD (Where Lobos lead, others follow):
Lobos LEAD is a retention program that is working to develop leadership skills in students while giving them opportunities to work on campus.First Semester: Freshmen are enrolled in SRSU 1101.Second Semester: Up to 20 second semester freshmen are invited to participate in the Lobo Leadership Academy.Third Semester: Graduates of the Lobo Leadership Academy become SRSU 1101 Peer Mentors.Fourth Semester: Peer Mentors move on to become Department Lobo Ambassadors.Junior and Senior Years: We hope to place them with departments in internships.
Notes:
Lobo Ambassadors will work 4-15 hours per week [no more than ten hours if the Lobo Ambassador is also a Residential Advisor (RA)].Lobo Ambassadors will meet bi-weekly with the Lobo Ambassador Coordinator.The Department Supervisor will meet with the Department Lobo Ambassador at end of the semester and share an evaluation of the student's efforts. A copy of the evaluation will go to the Lobo Ambassador Coordinator.Lobo Ambassadors will compete an evaluation of the program at the end of the semester.The Department will provide the day-to-day supervision of the Lobo Ambassador.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
