Position Summary
The Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health as part of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to hire a full-time, Clinical Instructor faculty member. The UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health’s Institute for Best Practice provides training, consultation, and evaluations in support of evidence-based practices across North Carolina and beyond, with specific emphasis on supporting peer specialists connected to a range of community-based services, including assertive community treatment (ACT), Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment, and community support teams (CST).
We are hiring one full-time Consultant and Trainer to join our current team of 12 consultants. Job duties will include networking with peer specialists across the state, as well as clinical supervisors in the role of supervising peer specialists. This Consultant and Trainer will also develop competencies to serve as a co-evaluator using a comprehensive and standardized program fidelity tool (Tool for Measurement of ACT (TMACT)). This Consultant and Trainer will assist with training curriculum development and deliver training materials in-person and virtually (e.g., webinars), providing onsite consultation to teams.
Strong writing skills, good interpersonal style, and effective time management are required. This position will require frequent in-state travel, with the possibility of periodic out-of-state travel. On average, monthly in-state travel is likely to be approximately 4 days per month. The office will be located in Carrboro, NC or Morrisville, NC; office-based work may be required up to six days per month.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Qualified applicants will have at least a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Experience with ACT, program evaluation (particularly in using the Tool for Measurement of ACT (TMACT), and/or training/consultation is required, with experience across all three preferred. Certification as a peer specialist is strongly preferred.
