Job Description
The Class Giving Officer is a member of a team charged with raising over $10M from over 15,000 donors per year for Brown through the Annual Fund from undergraduate alumni and undergraduate students. The incumbent will organize, plan, and implement fundraising campaigns and related events for an assigned cohort of non-reunion undergraduate alumni classes, with a strong emphasis on increasing alumni giving and volunteerism at all levels. In collaboration with a supervisor, the Class Giving Officer will set fundraising goals, recruit and develop volunteers, identify potential donors, and engage alumni in fundraising for the Brown Annual Fund. The Class Giving Officer is responsible for securing annual unrestricted leadership-level gifts from Carrie Tower-level prospects and is expected to cultivate, solicit, and steward these prospects through personal visits, phone calls, events, and email correspondence, as appropriate. This role will serve as the secondary supervisor of a Class Giving Associate, providing guidance, feedback, and supporting professional development.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, sales, marketing, volunteer management, nonprofit, or higher education.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proofreading ability, are required; must be able to communicate with a varied University constituency.
- Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented, creative, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify/solicit/cultivate/steward volunteers, donors, and/or prospects with the potential to give $10,000 .
- Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel, along with demonstrated comfort in dealing with calendar programs, social media, and emerging technologies.
- This position requires occasional travel, and the incumbent must be available to work some evenings and weekends, including Brown's annual Commencement-Reunion Weekend.
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills; must be a "self-starter", with the ability to work independently and also as a member of a collaborative team. Commitment to working in a team environment is essential.
- An ability to demonstrate decisiveness, trustworthiness, confidentiality, and discretion while dealing with a wide array of University constituencies.
- Proficiency with social media and emerging technologies
- Communicate the University's priorities to a broad range of constituents, including Corporation members and major and principal gift prospects.
- Some supervisory experience is preferred.
