Primary Purpose Of The Organizational Unit:
The Division of information Technology Services (ITS) at UNCG has broad responsibilities in determining the strategic direction for information technology deployment and use throughout the campus.
Position Summary:
The mission of ITS is to leverage expert staff and partnerships to provide sustainable technology services that are reliable, easy-to-use, and effective; and advance university strategic initiatives and regional growth with technological acuity and readiness.
The Director for Institutional Research and Enterprise Data Management provides sound leadership for a comprehensive institutional research and enterprise data management program to support the university’s mission, priorities, and associated initiatives.Inspiring campus-wide confidence in the professional staff and work products of the IREDM Office, the Director is a dynamic and engaged leader who proactively plans and manages staff assignments, actively participates in individual and group meetings to present findings and/or understand campus needs and maintains full accountability for the quality and timeliness of all reports and projects.
The Director serves in a cooperative and engaging role with team members to deliver to university leadership analytics that are both predictive and prescriptive, reporting and visualizations that allow for data-informed decision making, and oversees a comprehensive data governance program.
The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer and interacts regularly with the Provost, members of the Executive Steering Committee as well as deans and department heads and serves as a liaison to the UNC System Office and other external organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Mid-to late-career with Masters and 2-4 yrs experience or Bachelors and 3-5 yrs experience or Equivalent combination of education/experience
- Master’s Degree in a Social Science discipline, Educational Research, Business, or a closely related field.
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in Institutional Research in higher education or a similarly complex setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of research and data administration professionals.
