Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for assisting in directing plant operations

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

  • The Director assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
  • Assistant Director of Plant Operations, Plant Operations.

GUIDELINES

  • Guidelines include ADA codes, building codes, safety codes, and college policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK

  • The work consists of varied supervisory and technical duties. The variety of operations to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
  • The purpose of this position is to assist in directing facilities and plant operations for the college. Success in this position results in the provision of safe, attractive, and efficient facilities for all college operations.

Responsibilities

  • Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, assists, evaluates, and disciplines personnel.
  • Gathering of bids, purchase requests, dispersing Purchase orders
  • Directs maintenance and construction and renovation activities
  • Helps develop and maintain a préventive maintenance program
  • Directs daily maintenance and construction activities
  • Help create and maintain a work request system
  • Supervises and participates in the maintenance and repair or building systems throughout campus
  • Inspect, assess, maintain repair and schedule HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems and locks throughout campus
  • Operate, schedule, maintain and repair the Siemens and ALC controls throughout campus
  • Operate, schedule, maintain and repair the Access and Proxess access controls throughout campus

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Associates degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.

Required Experience

Associate degree or equivalent and five years of related experience which included supervisory experience; or a combination of education and experience.

This position may travel over 75% of the time
