CVP uses a trauma-informed, community-based participatory research approach which is rooted in racial equity and social justice. The Center consists of six pillars: (1) Aggression and Bullying Prevention; (2) Community Violence & Trauma Support; (3) Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Prevention; (4) Suicide Prevention; (5) Gun Safety; and (6) Professional Development and Training. CVP is uniquely positioned to conduct research that is authentic and meaningful because we have deep involvement in the programs that we are researching. CVP's infrastructure supports a growing interdisciplinary network of 23 Scholars, 12 Associates and 50 staff members who provide thought leadership in areas such as gun safety, community violence, intimate partner violence, aggression and bullying, and racial microaggressions. CVP collaborates closely with other CHOP entities such as PolicyLab, Clinical Futures, and the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We seek an energetic researcher who can conduct systematic research while, over time, mentor junior faculty, fellows, and graduate students.
