We are seeking a microbiologist with a research focus on a non-pathogenic bacterial model system, using a combination of classical microbiology and molecular tools to address topics such as microbial cell structure, microbial biochemistry, microbial genetic mechanisms, or microbial physiology.

The Successful Candidate Is Expected To
- Teach lecture and lab courses in microbiology, introductory molecular/cell biology and upper-level courses that complement current course offerings.
- Establish and maintain an externally-funded research program that complements the needs of our department and is accessible to both undergraduate and Master’s research students.
- Ph.D. in microbiology, biology or closely related discipline
- Postdoctoral research experience in microbiology and a well-developed research plan
- Experience teaching undergraduate biology courses as instructor of record
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education
- Teaching experience in the field of microbiology
- Experience teaching lecture and laboratory introductory biology courses as instructor of record
- Experience applying active-learning or student-centered pedagogy
- Demonstrated expertise in combining classical bacteriology and bioinformatics in microbiological research
- Experience collaborating in a coordinated teaching environment for multi-section courses
