Job Description
The Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks applications from talented candidates for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position to start in September 2026.
The primary research interests for candidates are those who specialize in either behavioral financial or archival audit. However, candidates in other areas of accounting research are welcome to apply. Those who complement our current faculty research portfolio will be considered.
Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.
Requirements
Candidates must have or expect to complete a Ph.D. in Accounting by September 2026. Candidates must have expertise or evident potential in providing high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, across face-to-face and online instructional modalities. Further, candidates should show evidence of, or potential for, publishing in top research journals.

It is perennially ranked among the world’s top universities for auditing research (BYU faculty rankings). Faculty are active in the academy as editors of some of the world’s leading auditing and accounting research journals. Salary Information
Salary range $79,350 to $245,000.
The low-end of the pay range in all faculty searches at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the minimum salary for the rank included in the collective bargaining agreement between the University and the Massachusetts Society of Professors, UMass Amherst/MTA/NEA.
