The Assistant Director of Marketing Communications is responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of the University through external marketing communications, media relations, and strategies and tactics guiding the development of news information and creative content. Responsibilities
Assist and support media relations; serve as Public Information Officer; assist as needed with crisis communications and reputation management; help manage responses to media inquiries and coordinate interview requests; proactively identify and promote stories on students, events, and faculty experts to local, state, regional and national media outlets; assist senior leadership with media/interview preparation, strategy, and press events/conferences; attend meetings and university events as required
Requirements
Occasional weekend and evening hours; on-call for emergencies outside of regular business hours

- Lead content development executional strategies and tactics; oversee team working collaboratively to develop holistic marketing communications content across all platforms; manage publicity requests from various campus constituencies; identify and align audiences with strategic messaging platforms; coordinate photo, video and graphic design needs related to content creation and news/information needs
