The ideal candidate will have expertise in orthopedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal examination and management, and biomechanics. Opportunities to teach anatomy may also be available. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, contributing to the mission of preparing competent and compassionate physical therapists who serve their communities through evidence-based practice. This position also includes responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service to the program, college, and university.

Typical Duties/Job Duties
- Teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum in assigned areas of expertise, with emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal examination and management, biomechanics, and outpatient practice environments.
- Provide instruction and mentorship in related clinical content areas, including orthopedic and outpatient settings.
- Engage in scholarly activity consistent with program and institutional expectations, including research, publication, and professional presentations.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic, clinical, and professional development.
- Participate in program and curriculum development to ensure alignment with current practice standards and CAPTE accreditation requirements.
- Contribute to service activities within the program, department, college, university, and professional community.
- Demonstrated expertise and teaching background in the orthopedic practice setting.
- Ability to integrate clinical experience into academic instruction using evidence-based and contemporary teaching methods.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and clinical partners.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting student success.
- An earned doctorate (e.g. PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc, DPT or tDPT);
- Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in the State of Texas is required;
- Record of clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation practice.
- Advanced clinical competency such as completion of a clinical fellowship or residency or ABPTS board certification.
- Established record of academic or clinical teaching experience.
- Record of scholarly productivity and professional service
