Job Summary/Description

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The ideal candidate will have expertise in orthopedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal examination and management, and biomechanics. Opportunities to teach anatomy may also be available. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, contributing to the mission of preparing competent and compassionate physical therapists who serve their communities through evidence-based practice. This position also includes responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service to the program, college, and university.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

• Teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum in assigned areas of expertise, with emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal examination and management, biomechanics, and outpatient practice environments.
• Provide instruction and mentorship in related clinical content areas, including orthopedic and outpatient settings.
• Engage in scholarly activity consistent with program and institutional expectations, including research, publication, and professional presentations.
• Advise and mentor students regarding academic, clinical, and professional development.
• Participate in program and curriculum development to ensure alignment with current practice standards and CAPTE accreditation requirements.
• Contribute to service activities within the program, department, college, university, and professional community.

Minimum Qualifications

• An earned doctorate (e.g. PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc, DPT or tDPT);
• Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in the State of Texas is required;
• Record of clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation practice.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced clinical competency such as completion of a clinical fellowship or residency or ABPTS board certification.
• Established record of academic or clinical teaching experience.
• Record of scholarly productivity and professional service
