Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit
ITS Finance & Administration (F&A) provides financial management, human resources support and administrative services to ITS. The unit handles financial planning and budgeting, human resources, benefits, vendor management, parking, facilities management and facility-related security.
Position Summary
This position will oversee the financial affairs of the department and operational units. They will monitor all transactions including and not limited to funding, budget, P-Card’s, internal billing, personnel actions as it relates to finance. Prepare monthly reporting including departmental financial statements, various project reporting, vacancy reports, lapse salary, departmental outstanding encumbrances, and other ad hoc reporting as needed. Work with the senior management to prepare the annual operating budgets and capital budgets for operational units within ITS.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in accounting; or Associate’s degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate and present financial information to leadership. Must have knowledge and experience with accounting policies and procedures. Must have the ability to independently prepare, disseminate, and interpret financial reports. Extensive knowledge of: Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Experience maintaining accounting records and transactions within the higher education, government or not for profit service sector.
