Overview

A businessman with two newborn children (in partnership with a co-parent living nearby) is seeking an Housekeeper in Tribeca. The home is occupied year-round and serves as the principal's primary residence. The household team consists of a House Manager, Nanny, Driver, and Housekeeper.


Team Overview

The Executive Housekeeper will report to the House Manager and be responsible for all housekeeping operations, maintaining the residence to exacting standards. When the House Manager is off or on vacation, the Executive Housekeeper is willing to take over the HM duties.


The household team includes

  • House Manager
  • Executive Housekeeper
  • Housekeeper
  • Driver (weekday and weekend coverage)
  • Additional supporting staff for finances and office management

The team works closely together over Slack, email, and telephone.


Position Overview

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in high-end private households, maintains meticulous standards of cleanliness and organization, and is adept with technology for communicating with the team and principal. The household requires a service-oriented mentality with flexibility to accommodate the principal's schedule, entertaining, and guest visits.


Schedule

The position is full-time, year-round. The standard schedule is five days per week, including Saturday and Sunday, plus three additional weekdays (flexible on which three). Two consecutive days off during the week.

Flexibility is expected, and hours may begin early in the morning and extend into the evening depending on the principal's needs, entertaining schedule, or guest activity.


Responsibilities:


  • Housekeeping & Standards

Hands-on daily housekeeping of the entire residence, including deep cleaning rotations, turndown service, and maintaining all rooms to a five-star standard.

Managing all laundry and garment care, including delicate fabrics, linens, baby items, and dry cleaning coordination.

Establishing and maintaining housekeeping processes, checklists, and standards.

  • Household Operations

Assisting the House Manager with vendor management, including but not limited to home automation, HVAC, cleaning suppliers, and any specialty service providers.

Inventory management for all household supplies, linens, baby supplies, and consumables; proactive reordering as needed.

Coordinating with other team members (Nanny, Driver, House Manager) to ensure seamless household operations, particularly during entertaining or when guests are in residence.

  • Acting House Manager

Serving as acting House Manager when the House Manager is away, including oversight of all household operations and staff.


Experience & Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working in high-end private households or ultra-luxury hospitality (five-star hotel experience considered).
  • Experience in households with young children is a plus.
  • Ability to accommodate last-minute and evolving schedule changes with ease.
  • Strong familiarity with technology, including Slack, Google Workspace, mobile apps, and smart home systems.
  • Familiarity with AI (Gemini, Claude) and ability to use it to answer questions and solve problems./ or willingness to learn
  • Deep knowledge of fabrics, garment care, fine furnishings, and luxury cleaning products/methods.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to handle the physical demands of a busy household, including lifting and moving items.
  • Comfortable working around pets, cats and dogs.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times is a must.
  • Keen eye for details.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.


Compensation & Benefits


Pay: Hourly rate with a guaranteed minimum annual compensation, amount TBD depending on experience and qualifications.


Health Insurance: Yes — employer-sponsored / stipend / details TBD


Paid Time Off: 10 PTO days per year, plus holidays. If required to work on a holiday, compensation is 2 days off for every holiday worked.

Meals: Daily lunch provided.
