Mechanical Superintendent (Hygienics/Process Piping)

DESCRIPTION:

The Process/Hygienics Mechanical Superintendent above all comes with years of managing projects with the background and acumen to work well with others and manage a team in the field working on various jobsites. The balance is with maintaining safety and quality of work while managing the adherence to client standards while excelling in company standards adherence..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ideally coming from a background in Process Piping, Equipment Setting, Mechanical or Structural Steel disciplines, this person will schedule, coordinate and supervise production and workforce engaged in one assigned project tasks, on various construction projects.
• Supervises assigned project work and liaises between field engineering, estimating, and workforce to ensure project compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
• Plans work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work. Reviews daily work schedule with direct reports and updates weekly schedule from project feedback.
• Reviews and understands the project specifications to support job set up activities. Works with work crews, field engineers and local utility companies to identify hazardous areas on job site.
• Forecasts the work schedule to identify possible issues and provides technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues.
• Provides technical input to identify and resolve project risks including construction methods, work plan and material requirements, safety, and schedule activities. Documents daily activities and meeting notes using Company approved document methods.
• Performs additional assignments per management's direction.
• Presents production work plan during initial project meeting to ensure all project crews and leaders are in alignment.
• Coordinates with internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within assigned budget and schedule.
• Coordinates with internal and external departments to ensure all mandated inspections are completed within requested timeframes.
• Supports and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements.
• Responsibility includes recommending training needs identified on jobsite. Supervises sub-contractor production and workforce regarding assigned project work.
• Recommends work schedule or work method adjustments regarding sub-contractor activities, as needed.
• Coordinates the project close out activities in line with Company standards and Owner checklist requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of Company values and strategic plan.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of field experience working in the MEP industry as a foreman or superintendent.
• Supervising crews in the field and delegating work and upholding safety standards.
• Manage relationships between DM, PM and Client expectations and clear communication of project goals, productivity, and safety.
• Preplanning, forecasting, and managing problems before they become issues.
• Mentoring and training and developing new employees.

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

(minimum requirements as follows):

• Lift 50lbs from the ground and pull 50lbs of force.
• Perform ladder climbing.
• Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25lb tool belt.
• Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.
• Work off of ladders, man lifts or reach booms.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to:

• A variety of weather conditions including cold, rain, heat, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
