InServ is seeking a Corporate Quality Director to lead and advance InServ’s companywide Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent, compliant and high-quality execution across all projects and divisions. Reporting directly to the President, this role provides strategic and operational leadership for quality assurance and quality control, integrates quality into business planning and execution, and drives continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction.
The Corporate Quality Director partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Estimating and Business Development to position quality as a competitive differentiator and to protect project margins, schedules and InServ’s reputation.
Primary areas of responsibility include:
- Governance and continuous improvement of InServ’s Quality Management System
- Support of Operations through project-specific quality planning
- Training and mentoring quality and document control teams
- Leadership and development of the quality division
- Administrative management, including strategic planning, budgeting, and estimating support.
- Oversight of quality document control, versioning, record retention, and traceability systems
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Planning and Department Leadership
- Lead annual quality strategic and business planning and budgeting
- Support companywide strategic initiatives from a quality and risk perspective
- Evaluate new services offerings and associated quality impacts
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate quality‑related training and certification needs
- Establish department goals, KPIs, and performance measures
- Manage quality department budgeting, staffing, and financial performance
Quality Management System (QMS) Governance
- Develop, maintain, and control InServ’s Quality Program, including manuals, procedures, forms, and document control systems
- Oversee document versioning, record retention and traceability
- Own companywide corrective and preventive action (CAPA), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs
Program and Technical Quality Oversight
- Govern quality requirements for all self-performed services:
- Hygienic Piping
- Process Piping
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Structural Steel Fabrication
- Millwright
- Rigging
- Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls
- Control Panel Fabrication
- Create, audit, maintain, and correct all Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs)
- Manage and document all certification programs, including welder certification, continuity verification, and continuity log maintenance
- Ensure compliance with applicable welding, inspection, and nondestructive testing (NDT) standards
Operations and Project Execution Support
- Provide quality leadership throughout project lifecycle, from estimating support through execution and closeout
- Develop and maintain discipline‑specific procedures, inspection templates, and inspection and test plans (ITPs)
- Train quality and field personnel to perform jobsite quality audits and inspections
- Ensure 100% compliance with required visual testing of pipe welds under ASME B31.1 and B31.3
- Provide and manage site‑specific QC representatives when contractually required
- Periodically audit projects and field quality staff for compliance with company and project requirements
Estimating, Vendors & Supplier Quality
- Support Estimating with quality budgets, metrics, and scope‑specific requirements
- Manage vendor and subcontractor qualification and requalification programs
Audits, Authority & Client Interface
- Exercise stop‑work authority for quality or code noncompliance
- Serve as primary point of contact for client, regulatory, and third‑party audits
- Lead audit preparation, execution, and corrective action response
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Monitor supplier quality performance and coordinate corrective actions as needed
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and publish a monthly quality dashboard including KPIs such as:
- Project quality status
- Nonconformance and rework trends
- Testing and inspection performance
- Analyze trends, lead lessons‑learned initiatives, and implement improvement strategies
- Track and report the Cost of Quality
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of 10 years of industrial construction quality management experience
- Degree in Welding, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Active ASNT Level III (Visual Testing) – Required
- AWS CWI with ASME B31.3 Process Piping focus – Preferred
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) – Preferred
- Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, materials, inspections, and QA/QC systems
- Demonstrated leadership, team development, and strategic execution capabilities
- Experience leading audits, CAPA programs, and quality system improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and employees at all levels
- Proficient with MS Office and quality/construction management systems
Technical Codes and Standards Experience:
- ASME B31.1, B31.3 (primary focus), and B31.9
- ASME Section IX
- ASME BPE‑2022
- AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, D9.1
- NFPA / National Electrical Code
- UL 508A (Industrial Control Panels)
- ASHRAE (HVAC)
- Familiarity with ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A and common ASTM NDT standards
- Familiarity with 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926, including PSM integration
- Understanding of GMP/GxP expectations for life sciences/pharmaceutical projects
