Principle Hardware Engineer, Baseband

Position Overview

Inseego is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer, Baseband to work onsite in San Diego, Ca. The Principal Hardware Engineer, Baseband serves as a core contributor to the Product Development Team, supporting the full lifecycle from concept through final product release by designing hardware architectures and translating product requirements into detailed specifications. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior engineers, working effectively across cross-functional teams, utilizing tools such as Visio and Cadence, communicating clearly, and completing occasional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and document Hardware architectures for Mobile and Fixed Wireless Devices.
• Define and create Hardware specifications from product requirement documentation.
• Work with component vendors on device specifications and cost.
• Provide tradeoff analysis for management to make informed decisions.
• Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB Layout.
• Test and Validate Designs to make sure they meet design requirements.
• Work as part of the Product Development Team from Concept to final product release.
• Mentor Jr Engineers
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; master’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
• Requires nnowledge of current and emerging Hardware technologies.
• Requires the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Must have strong experience working with cross-functional engineer teams
• Must have good understanding of global wireless carrier requirements related to WCDMA / LTE / 5G technologies.
• Must have experience in design and development of Microprocessor, Memory, Power Management, Charging, and USB circuits
• Experience with High Volume Product development and Manufacturing is required.
• Experience with Layout and Simulation of High-Speed Interfaces is required.
• Experience with Qualcomm SDX, MSM, APQ ICs is preferred.
• Experienced with Visio creating block diagrams is required.
• Superior problem-solving skills at board level with strong layout skills is required.
• Cadence experience is preferred.
  
  

Salary Range: $150,000–$175,000
