🔧 About the Role
As a Journeyman Electrician, you’ll install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, a solid understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Excellent communication and a proactive, safety‑first mindset are essential.
⭐ What You’ll Do
- Perform electrical tasks with general supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Install, terminate, and troubleshoot control wiring
- Install and terminate feeders
- Perform wire and conduit sizing
- Install and terminate switchgear and devices
- Handle underground layout and rough‑in work
- Troubleshoot motors and controls; read one‑line diagrams
- Install and bend Rigid, EMT, and ENT conduit
- Run and test computer cables and jacks
- Complete work orders and track materials used
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code
- Perform additional duties as needed to support project success
✔️ Qualifications
- 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Active Journeyman Electrical License (as required)
- Completion of OSHA 10, OSHA 30, equipment training, and all safety certifications
- Ability to identify wire colors and read prints/schematics
- Experience with power tools, saws, threaders, hydraulic benders, and similar equipment
- Ability to dig trenches and safely operate equipment such as trenchers, backhoes, and lifts
- Ability to operate company vehicles (manual and automatic)
- Ability to work on energized circuits (with proper company approval)
💪 Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, and pull
- Lift up to 51 lbs
- Stand and move for extended periods
- Climb various ladder types and work at heights up to 90’
- Work in all weather conditions
- Use construction‑site facilities
- Carry a personal tool belt (approx. 30 lbs)
- Work in confined spaces (manholes, tunnels, crawl spaces, attics)
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Work full shifts, overtime, and night shifts as needed
