Kickstart a high-demand career in the skilled trades. At INPWR, our Electrical Apprenticeship Program blends paid, on-the-job training with state-approved classroom education (ABC / IEC / NECA partners) to take you from apprentice to Journeyman Electrician in ~4 years. You’ll learn from experienced journeymen on real commercial/industrial projects across the Denver metro area.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems (conduit, wiring, devices, lighting, panels).
  • Learn to measure, cut, bend, and install conduit; pull wire; terminate devices to manufacturer specs.
  • Use and maintain hand/power tools (threaders, benders, tuggers, knockout sets, drills, testers).
  • Read and interpret blueprints/schematics; assist in layout and material staging.
  • Support safe, efficient job sites: tool organization, housekeeping, barricades, lifts.
  • Operate equipment (ladders, lifts; with training—trenchers/backhoe); dig trenches as needed.
  • Perform basic electrical testing (continuity, voltage, resistance) with proper PPE.
  • Work under the mentorship of Journeyman Electricians and site leadership.



What You’ll Learn (Year-by-Year)

Year 1: Electrical basics: Ohm’s Law, conductor types/sizes, lighting & appliance circuits.

  • Switch control, receptacle bonding, low-voltage systems, pipe bending.
  • Tool use, jobsite safety, blueprint fundamentals.

Year 2: AC theory, inductance/transformers, three-phase power, generators.

  • Grounding, bonding & overcurrent protection; industrial/commercial wiring.
  • Conduit/wire and box sizing; building panels and controllers.

Year 3: Advanced blueprint reading; power distribution; hazardous locations.

  • Analog & discrete I/O, mechanical systems; revising circuits.
  • Equipment install: motors/drives, starters, relays; preventive maintenance.

Year 4: PLC/programmable controls, solid-state relays, motor controls.

  • Troubleshooting methods; E-Stop & safety circuits; test prep & code review.
  • Preparation to sit for your Journeyman exam.


Training includes OSHA 10 (and OSHA 30 by program completion), equipment training, and required safety certifications.



Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 , High School Diploma/GED (or equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read prints/schematics, identify wire colors, follow instructions.
  • Comfortable with hand/power tools; willingness to learn test meters.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb/stand/work overhead, and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and safety-first mindset.



Work Environment & Schedule

  • Commercial/industrial job sites (indoors/outdoors) in all weather.
  • Work at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolds) and in restricted spaces (tunnels, manholes, crawl spaces).
  • Standard 10-hour shifts; overtime/night shifts as needed; PPE always required.
