Finance & Compliance Controller

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance & Compliance Controller to join our Finance team. This role combines classic financial controlling with a strong focus on compliance within finance and accounting. You will play a key role in ensuring that financial processes, reporting, and controls are both efficient and compliant with internal standards and external regulations.

You will help design, document, and improve financial processes and controls, ensuring that our finance operations meet high standards of accuracy, transparency, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic fintech environment and enjoys bridging finance operations with risk management and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain financial compliance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and SOPs for the finance function.
• Identify and assess financial and accounting risks, and design effective controls to mitigate them.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting and regulatory requirements (e.g., AML, local GAAP/IFRS compliance where applicable).
• Support and lead internal control reviews, ensuring timely remediation of findings.
• Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams during internal and external audits.
• Continuously improve documentation and standardization of finance processes (e.g., procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report).
• Drive awareness of compliance and control culture across the finance department.

• Support the monthly closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial results.
• Assist with group consolidation and preparation of management reports.
• Contribute to variance analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with reporting standards.
• Support process optimization and automation initiatives within finance systems and workflows.

• Basic understanding of Transfer Pricing principles and documentation.
• Experience with VAT and indirect tax accounting.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and accounting treatment.
• Knowledge of finance systems (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools, BI dashboards).
• Knowlodge of Compliance systems (e.g., RISMA, Impero)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial controlling, audit, or finance compliance roles — preferably within fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, process design, and financial compliance frameworks.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS and/or local GAAP).
• Experience with risk assessment and control design in a finance or audit setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail, with a structured and process-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; experience with ERP tools is an advantage.
