- Set up and operate a narrow‑web flexographic press to meet job specs and production targets.
- Review job tickets, proofs, artwork, materials, and instructions prior to production.
- Install plates, dies, cylinders, anilox rolls, doctor blades, and inks; verify tooling readiness.
- Load substrates—paper, films, and pressure‑sensitive stocks—and thread the web accurately.
- Control registration, impression, web tension, color, ink viscosity, and drying/curing parameters.
- Perform precise color matching and make live press adjustments to maintain stable quality.
- Conduct in‑process inspections for color, registration, copy, barcodes, defects, die‑cut accuracy, and appearance.
- Troubleshoot common issues: dirty print, pinholing, plate bounce, registration variation, ink buildup, web breaks, inconsistent color.
- Verify finished product meets customer requirements and approved standards.
- Reduce waste, setup time, downtime, and material loss while achieving production goals.
- Accurately record production data, material usage, waste, QC checks, and downtime.
- Clean the press, perform preventive maintenance, and complete basic mechanical adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow SOPs, quality systems, and company policies.
- Communicate proactively with Production, Quality, Prepress, Ink, Maintenance, and Finishing.
- Train and assist Press Helpers and support peers as needed; take on additional tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Flexographic press operation experience preferred; Mark Andy 2200 or similar experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of flexo plates, anilox rolls, inks, dies, substrates, web handling, registration, and color control.
- Ability to interpret job tickets, proofs, specifications, measurements, and production documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude; strong troubleshooting and color‑discrimination skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail; quality‑first mindset; collaborative and self‑directed work style.
- Availability for overtime or flexible hours as production requires.
- Standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling of materials/tooling.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfort working around moving equipment, inks, solvents, and noise with appropriate PPE.
