WORK SCHEDULE:
- Day shift only varied, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Support Technician is responsible for assisting nursing staff across the PreOp, PACU and GI areas, with various tasks in providing efficiencies for daily operations of the Center. Tasks performed involve limited patient care as well as a variety of other duties:
- Possesses professional communication skills for effective sharing of information with patients, families, physicians and professional nursing staff
- Provides assistance with continuous patient flow throughout all stages of patients’ surgical process
- Assists with direct patient care to include application of monitoring equipment, IV removal, retrieving nourishment and discharge preparation process under supervision and instruction of staff Registered Nurse
- Monitors and supplies pre-operative areas with OR attire, linens and other items required for patient care
- Orders and stocks supplies needed for OR, GI, Pre-Op, PACU departments
- Transportation of patients for discharge
- Computer entry of patient data
- Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, pulling and pushing of carts, equipment, etc. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist; be able to kneel
- Frequently able to lift/carry 25 pounds or more
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- One or more years of strong Clinical Support Tech, CNA, PCT, or PCA experience desired
- Experience must include Vital Signs, Blood Glucose Testing, Bladder Scanning, Oxygen Therapy and Peripheral IV Insertion
- Previous work experience in an acute-care facility or ambulatory surgery center preferred
- Completion of a formal Clinical Technician Academy Training in the acute setting is highly desired
- CNA certification highly desired
- High school graduate or equivalent
- BLS certification required
