Inova Oakville Surgery Center located at 400 Fannon St. Alexandria VA, is currently hiring a Full-Time experienced Materials Assistant to become an integral member of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients.
ABOUT US:
The Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center, situated in the Potomac Yards area of Alexandria. This cutting-edge facility will be a cornerstone of the newly established Inova medical campus.
Boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center will feature three (3) Operating Rooms, (2) Procedure/GI Suites, and 15 PreOp/PACU bays, all geared towards delivering top-tier medical services to our community.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Unpack and distribute supplies and equipment
- Verify daily delivery of items with packing slips and purchase orders, and note back-orders. Notify appropriate individuals of discrepancies
- Research and resolve problems with damaged, missing, or incorrect merchandise
- Computer input of used items from physician preference cards for prior days’ procedures
- Assist with maintaining par levels and restocking when needed
- Prepare supply re-order lists
- Create purchase orders for reordering of supplies and send to appropriate vendor for processing
- Perform monthly physical inventory counts
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- At least one (1) year previous work experience in ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting
- Strongly prefer operating room experience - RN, CST knowledge preferable
- Strong computer skills, ability to learn new inventory system software
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends the English language
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
