- Reads and translates medical terminology written by physicians for obtaining Holter monitoring results, electrocardiogram (ECG) tracings, and other related cardiac monitoring devices.
- Ensures proper settings on equipment to collect ECG tracings with correct patient identification such as medical record number as well as last and first name.
- Participates in unit initiatives and quality improvement processes while attending staff meetings and verbalizing understanding of unit initiatives.
- Educates patients on home instructions for Holter monitoring.
- Correctly applies Holter monitoring leads to ensure accurate results.
- Processes ECG tracings for physician interpretation, accurate record keeping, and billing.
- Places ECG leads on patients and clears any interference to achieve high-quality tracings.
- Communicates findings of abnormal ECG tracings to appropriate healthcare team members in a timely and efficient manner.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
