What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist (PT) Acute Care PRN position at Inova Health System?
Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for an Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to join our Acute Care team. This position is PRN or as needed for intermittent coverage needs working a varied schedule to include weekdays, weekends( 2 per month) and holidays as needed by the department.

Physical Therapist PRN Job Responsibilities:
- Documents the results of evaluations clearly and completely by including all essential elements according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance, and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan in addition to eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
- Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established timeframes (e.g. allow other therapists to continue treatment, allow for interpretation by payers, supports reimbursements).
- Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
- Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of special needs of the patients or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
- Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start
Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred
- One year experience working as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting
