Job Responsibilities
- Correctly evaluate cellular samples and deliver accurate cytologic diagnoses
- Identify and document unacceptable specimens and coordinate with healthcare providers for timely recollection
- Maintain efficient department operations by adhering to technical and scientific standards
- Monitor quality control and instrumentation and take corrective action as needed
- Support the expansion of FNA services and contribute to workflow improvements in a growing department
- Maintain supply inventory
- Participate in department initiatives and projects to improve efficiency, quality, and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Associate Degree with at least 12 semester hours in science, eight of which are biology
- Years of Experience: No experience required.
- Certification: Cytotechnologist registry with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
