Our client is currently seeking a Assistant Bridge Inspector This position is fully onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL - MUST be localThis is an ongoing contractQualificationsHigh School Diploma with 1 year of Data Entry experience.Basic knowledge of computers and typing at least 50 WPM.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).Knowledge of Adobe, Paint.net, Print Station, Betterjpeg, and Google Maps.Familiarity with FDOT Mainframe and Bridge Management System.Strong communication skills and team-oriented.Willingness to travel and work outside.Physical ability to occasionally reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.ResponsibilitiesData entry into the Florida Department of Transportation Bridge Management System via the Internet.Field Bridge Inspection and preparation.Organize and enter inspector's notes into the Bridge Management System.Prepare reports for submission.Take and convert measurements.Create folders for different districts.Keep track of inspection files for different projects.Communicate with sub-consultants on related tasks.Perform basic office duties (answer telephone and door).Maintain file folders for different inspection projects.Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems, seek to learn from peers, and encourage reciprocal learning among team members.Work Environment & Physical DemandsOccasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.Frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and drive a bucket truck or a pickup.
