- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
- Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and insurance authorizations
- Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks utilizing systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
- Maintain accurate dental and medical records while reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and efficiently
- Assist with office management duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health information through various EHR systems
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of protected health information (PHI)
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills (10 key typing preferred)
