What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Specialist position at Inomedic Health Applications Inc?
Job Duties/Functions:
This position is responsible for supporting and contributing to a program focused on customer service, safety, cleanliness, improving overall health, conducting fitness assessments, providing instruction on the proper use of the equipment, instructing group exercise classes, strong motivational skills, and ability to communicate effectively with management and employees.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with facility operation plans including opening and/or closing Fitness Center
· Maintain safe and professional atmosphere in the Fitness Center or when representing the program on Center (professional demeanor with facility users and staff; appropriate attire)
· Provide superior customer service to every Fitness Center member
· Ability to demonstrate verbally and/or physically the proper use of exercise equipment and to provide feedback to improve members’ technique/form for safer, more effective activity
· Perform fitness assessments
· Instruct group exercise classes
· Provide personal training (if certified)
· Ensure a safe and clean facility
· Advertising and marketing
· Ability to respond to safety and emergency response drills/events
· Assist all staff members
· Other tasks as assigned
Working Conditions:
Must thrive in a team atmosphere and effectively work with all levels of employees. Fitness environment requires regular lifting of 50 lbs. weight, and

Requirements:Education/Training:Certification
- Current: NCCA accredited personal trainer or primary group exercise certification from one of the following: NSCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, ISSA
- Current CPR/AED certification
- OR A BACHELOR'S DEGREE (BA/BS degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health or Exercise Science preferred not required.
BLS and First Aid certification current or completed in first 120 hours. Must be willing to obtain either of the certifications within 180 days of hire.
