Sr. Aruba Wireless Engineer / SME | Washington D.C. / Norfolk, VA / San Diego, CA | Active Secret Required
Innovien is supporting a large-scale federal network program across multiple Navy installations, and we're hiring a Senior Aruba Wireless Engineer to serve as the resident SME. This is an ownership role — architecture, configuration, and ongoing performance of enterprise wireless infrastructure at scale, with direct interface to program leadership and customer stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Own Aruba wireless architecture and configuration across the installation — designing, deploying, and optimizing infrastructure to DoD security baselines
- Diagnose and resolve complex wireless issues for on-site end users and remote/off-base devices, managing escalations at enterprise scale
- Lead wireless implementation projects: scoping, planning, and executing deployments with minimal disruption to mission-critical operations
- Present wireless solution designs and recommendations to technical teams and program leadership
- Maintain technical documentation — design guides, configuration runbooks, and SOPs — to support audit readiness and program continuity
- Train and mentor junior wireless engineers on Aruba platforms, troubleshooting methodology, and federal environment standards
What You Bring
- 8 years of enterprise wireless engineering experience in large-scale environments, with 5 years hands-on with Aruba wireless/WLAN (controllers, APs, ClearPass, Aruba Central)
- Proven ability to design, document, and present enterprise wireless solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- CompTIA Security (required)
- Active Aruba vendor certification: ACSA, ACCP, ACEP, or equivalent (required)
- Active Secret clearance or higher
Nice to Have
- Experience in DoD or federal network environments; familiarity with security baselines and compliance requirements
- ACMX or higher, or HPE/Aruba partner credentials
- RF planning tools and wireless site survey experience
Details
- Active Secret clearance required
- Primarily onsite — Washington Navy Yard (D.C.), Naval Station Norfolk (VA), or Naval Base San Diego (CA); approximately once per week
- W2 employment with Innovien Solutions
- 12-month contract
