What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Network and Unified Communications (JOB ID 003116) position at Innovien Solutions?
Innovien is supporting a full, ground up rebuild of an enterprise network and the modernization of how it is architected and operated. We're hiring a Director of Network and Unified Communications to own the entire network and set the direction for the effort end to end. The network grew over years without a unified strategy, and the budget, executive mandate, and runway are now in place to fix it. This is a strategy first role with the autonomy to shape the organization your way, and technical credibility is essential.
What You'll Do
- Lead the network rebuild from a blank slate, owning architecture, design, standards, and sequencing
- Define and own the colocation (COLO) connectivity strategy, including redundancy, vendor selection, and ongoing operations
- Build a technical debt elimination strategy and assess Network as a Service (NaaS) for the LAN and wireless layers, delivering a formal recommendation within the first year
- Mature the managed service provider (MSP) engagement model and own all network and telecom operations globally, including WAN, LAN, wireless, VoIP, SIP trunking, soft phones, mobility, and DDoS
- Inherit and restructure the team, and deliver executive level reporting on progress, operational health, and cost outcomes
What You Bring
- 10 years of enterprise networking leadership across network builds, colocation, cloud connectivity, or large scale infrastructure transformation
- Deep expertise in enterprise WAN, LAN, and wireless architecture, including SD-WAN, routing and switching, wireless design, and DNS/DHCP/IPAM in a Cisco environment
- Experience owning unified communications: VoIP, SIP trunking, soft phones, video and telepresence, conferencing, and contact center capabilities
- MSP management experience, particularly in early stage or immature models
- Network as a Service (NaaS) familiarity, with enough depth to assess fit, select a partner, and make a go or no go recommendation
- Experience with Zero Trust network segmentation, NAC, and STIGs in a defense or regulated environment
- Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP
