What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Safety Environment Officer position at Innovex?
Innovex is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Technician to join our team in Humble, Texas. This field-based role supports day-to-day Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) operations and compliance across our facilities and projects. The HSE Technician plays a key role in promoting a safe workplace culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at worksites.
- Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, training records, and compliance reports.
- Support new hire HSE orientations and lead toolbox meetings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Monitor environmental controls, including waste disposal, air emissions, and spill prevention.
- Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and recordkeeping.
- Provide HSE support during field operations, projects, and emergency response activities.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, training, and engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in an HSE or safety-related role.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience required.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and federal/state safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Certifications:
- OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry)
- First Aid / CPR
- HAZWOPER, H2S, or similar safety training
- CHSC / CHST
