Role: Senior Business Analyst With Texas Department of Education
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:
- Elicitation & Analysis - Analyzes user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. Elicits requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
- Requirements Writing & Visual Output - Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups. Uses standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
- BA Best Practices & Mentorship - Acts as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeks out training opportunities.
- Using TEA Tools Effectively - Uses TEA tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years of experience eliciting business and system requirements through customer/stakeholder interviews and documenting well-written system requirements.
- 8 years of experience working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and improving software process flows.
- 8 years of experience creating user stories and use cases aligned with business analysis best practices.
- 8 years of experience designing wireframes and mockups following UX best practices.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience with strong communication, stakeholder facilitation, and presentation skills.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience with strong technical writing, documentation, and organizational skills.
- 1 year of hands-on experience using Atlassian Jira for issue and project tracking.
- 1 year of experience using a requirements management tool (e.g., Modern Requirements).
- 1 year of experience working with TEA (Texas Education Agency), a federal/state/local education agency, or an education vendor.
