Job Title: Paramedic – Ambulatory Surgery Center
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Paramedic to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team 3 days per week. This role includes clinical responsibilities as well as essential support duties that ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate has strong emergency medicine experience, is highly skilled with IV placement, and maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude. Professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting are a must.
This is a great opportunity for a Paramedic looking to supplement income while maintaining a consistent part-time schedule.
Schedule
- Every Tuesday – Litchfield Park
- 1–2 Wednesdays per month – Litchfield Park (schedule provided in advance)
- Every Thursday – Surprise
- Additional days as needed for coverage
- MUST HAVE eCW EXPERIENCE
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments (medical history, allergies, medications, surgical history).
- Obtain and document vital signs and confirm patient readiness for procedures.
- Perform IV placement and blood draws with accuracy and confidence.
- Assist with anesthesia clearance, consent verification, and pre-op workflow.
- Support post-operative care including monitoring, addressing immediate needs, and assisting with discharge instructions.
- Respond appropriately to any emergencies within the ASC.
Operational & Support Duties:
- Print and organize daily schedules.
- Retrieve PRP from the freezer and ensure proper handling.
- Assist with staffing schedule coordination as needed.
- Perform terminal cleaning to maintain safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with nurses, MAs, and providers to optimize patient flow and daily efficiency.
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely documentation.
Qualifications
- Certified Paramedic (State license required)
- Strong IV and phlebotomy skills
- Experience with triage, patient assessment, and perioperative care
- Knowledge of medication administration and emergency response
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, professional demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- eClinicalWorks experience required
- Experience in a surgical center or hospital preferred
- Pain management procedure experience a plus
Compensation
$28–$34 per hour, depending on experience.
