Job Summary:

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting kitchen staff in ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This includes washing, chopping, measuring, and storing food items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare basic food items (e.g., sauces, dressings, marinades) as instructed.
• Label, date, and properly store ingredients and prepped items.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines during all food preparation.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and tools after use.
• Assist cooks and chefs with additional prep tasks as needed.
• Inform supervisors of low inventory or spoiled items.
• Perform daily kitchen cleaning duties, including trash removal.
• Follow portion control and quality standards at all times.

Requirements:

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Team player with a good attitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
