The Future Operations Planning Analyst provides direct support for deliberate and crisis action planning of MARCENT future operations in the CENTCOM AOR. This role develops operational concepts and contingency plans, assists staff in producing CONPLANs and OPLAN annexes, and integrates intelligence, logistics, and personnel considerations into planning efforts. The analyst coordinates planning with CENTCOM and joint forces to ensure alignment of MARCENT objectives with higher headquarters’ guidance. With 5–7 years of deliberate planning or DoD exercise planning experience, expert-level knowledge of the Marine Corps Planning Process, and its application in the Joint arena, the analyst supports and leads Operational Planning Teams, applies the Joint Staff Global Force Management Process, and advises on USMC capabilities and limitations in CENTCOM operations. By combining advanced planning expertise with operational awareness, the Future Operations Planning Analyst enhances MARCENT’s ability to prepare, synchronize, and execute future operations. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop operational concepts and contingency plans.
- Assist staff in producing CONPLANs and OPLAN annexes.
- Integrate intelligence, logistics, and personnel considerations into future plans.
- Coordinate planning with CENTCOM and joint forces.
- Apply Marine Corps Planning Process and Joint Staff Global Force Management Process to future planning efforts.
- Lead and support Operational Planning Teams to synchronize MARCENT future operations.
Supplemental Duties:
- Provide advisory support to MARCENT leadership on operational feasibility of proposed plans.
- Assist in evaluating lessons learned from prior planning efforts for incorporation into future operations.
- Contribute to developing SOPs for deliberate and crisis planning processes.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ensure planning documentation is archived according to records management standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5–7 years of deliberate or exercise planning experience in DoD or equivalent environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of the Marine Corps Planning Process .
- Experience applying MCPP in the Joint planning arena.
- Experience leading Operational Planning Teams .
- Knowledge of the Joint Staff Global Force Management Process.
- Familiarity with USMC capabilities and limitations in CENTCOM planning efforts and operations.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to integrate intelligence, logistics, and personnel inputs into comprehensive plans.
- Strong writing and planning analysis skills for producing operational annexes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and planning support tools.
- Collaboration skills to coordinate effectively with CENTCOM and joint forces.
Location:
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.
Work Environment:
Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes participation in planning conferences and exercises.
Physical Demands:
Primarily sedentary office work with extensive computer use and planning documentation handling. May involve travel to planning conferences.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
May require flexibility during crisis action planning cycles.
License and Other Requirements:
Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card.
