Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative with a strong background in the foodservice industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the foodservice market. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with foodservice establishments such as restaurants and restaurant chains. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling our products, providing exceptional customer service, and driving revenue growth in your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan – calling restaurant operators to achieve sales targets and objectives in the foodservice and retail sectors.
- Identify and prospect new customers within the industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular visits, and proactive communication.
- Analyze current products the customer needs and conduct product demonstrations through product samples to showcase the features and benefits of our product offerings to maximize sales opportunities and profitability.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounting, Production, and Transportation to support sales initiatives and meet customer needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Negotiate contracts, and terms with customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Overcome objections and address concerns to successfully close sales and secure new business.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations, and presentations to prospective customers.
- Provide accurate and timely reports, and updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Sales experience within the foodservice industry, protein industry preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in the foodservice industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and building customer relationships is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of the foodservice and retail markets, including understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and competitor landscape.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and close sales.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing sales opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
