The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of a project including estimating, bidding, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, budget development, and invoicing. The PE will learn to drive efficient and timely completion schedules with utmost professionalism.
Responsibilities And Expectations
- Interpret detailed construction drawings and specifications
- Communicate clearly and effectively with Subcontractors, Architects, Inspectors, and other team members
- Maintain a strong positive team environment between all project members
- Manage, orchestrate, monitor, and document all site activities on a daily basis
- Create and manage Change Order process and log
- Assist in creating schedules
- Assist in creating and managing Submittal and Procurement logs
- Assist in the review and processing of shop drawings
- Assist in creating and maintaining short-term project look-ahead schedules
- Scheduling all on-site activities and site inspections
- Manage project changes on site and be responsible for distributing current project information to all trades
- Maintain project information on site in an organized manner
- Assist in layout and coordination of tradesmen on site
- Assist in the coordination of design, engineering, and for-site utilities
- Assist in creating and managing requests for information
- Assist in managing punch-lists and project close-out documentation
- 1-5 years of proven experience at a design/build or construction related field
- Project Management Certification (PMP, MPM, etc.) preferred but not required
- Construction Management, Architectural or Engineering degree preferred but not required
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and team communication/presentation skills
- Field experience is a plus
- Desire to develop comfort in interfacing with clients
- Passion for construction project management
- Passion for architecture and design
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfort in working independently as problem solver in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft suite including Excel and MS Project
