Academic Req~ Required - Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required.

Work experience~ Required - 3 years’ experience providing direct services to the targeted population is required. At least 2 years of supervisory experience in human services or a related field is required.

Preferred – Experience In Home-based Services.

Summary~ The Assistant Grant Director is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided the service population especially in crisis situations while maintaining compliance with established program standards.

Critical Action Items~

  • Help the Lead Navigator team & Mental Health Specialist understand family dynamics relating to the client and help in planning client services & opportunities.
  • Provide direct supervision over the Lead Navigator team & Mental Health Specialist.
  • Create & maintain scheduling of check-ins with supervised staff.
  • Create and maintain office schedules, due dates for mandated reports, and other necessary internal procedures as applicable.
  • Maintain the continuity and integrity of the records and reporting as required for compliance.
  • Maintain records as required by contractor.
  • Act as a liaison between the INK/Thriving Texas Families and outside agencies, including contractors and community organizations.
  • Keeps Grant Director updated on status of program.
  • Provides case notes and monthly billing information in a timely manner, liaising with finance team regularly.
  • Will follow all procedures of the INK personnel manual.
  • Work with team to develop and ensure delivery of service plan.
  • Provide training and technical support to Lead Navigators.
  • Make recommendations for disciplinary action of employees to the Grant Director.
  • Using stated policies and procedures report child abuse/neglect.
  • Maintains familiarity and knowledge of community resources and uses these appropriately to meet the needs of families.
  • Conducts community outreach in educating parents, professionals, and others about program and agency services, and child abuse prevention awareness.
  • Maintain confidential client files for assigned participants.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Measurable Deliverables~

  • Meets or exceeds all outputs and incomes as required by Thriving Texas Families grant and INK.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in curriculum and administration duties.
  • Document all participant attendance on a weekly basis, and no less than monthly.
  • Review data entry from Lead Navigators & their teams for accuracy and timely entry into information databases as required.
  • Develop and participate in regular recruiting events for families and staff to meet program requirements.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports, or more as is required by supervisor/INK.
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings.

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control, and professional composure, at all times.
  • Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)

  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel locally as needed.
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license
