Mid America Seed located in Great Bend, KS is looking to add a qualified Staff Accountant to their growing team.
This is an entry-level accounting position and you will be responsible for processing the day to day accounting activity, inventory control, staying in constant communication with the Sales Team on Sales Orders and the Warehouse Department on Purchase Orders, monitor/maintain/report on prepay contracts and vendor billings, along with assisting the accounting team in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Financial Accountant.
Role & Responsibilities
The successful candidate for this position must be highly organized, motivated and have general accounting and bookkeeping knowledge. A 2-year degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Attention to detail, oral & written communication skills and an act for critical thinking are also sought.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a farm office setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The office is located near a grain facility, so any dust or grain allergies would have to be tolerated.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasionally, the position may require extended work hours if requested and approved by the financial accountant.
The qualified candidates must be able to pass post-offer employment testing.

- Answer telephone when needed and greet customers
- Assist with non-routine projects
