Supplier Quality Engineer – Casting & Machining - Fond du Lac, WI (USA)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) activities for casting and machined components.
• Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Engineering Change Management (ECM) initiatives with suppliers.
• Provide hands-on technical support to suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing process capability.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) programs by ensuring quality readiness during product launches and production ramp-ups.
• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between suppliers, manufacturing teams, and engineering organizations to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.

Technical Skills & Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with casting processes, including:
  • Aluminum High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC)
  • Aluminum Low-Pressure Die Casting (LPDC)
  • Knowledge of Sand Casting and other high-pressure casting techniques
• Experience in the machining and quality assurance of precision-engineered components.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industry best practices.
• Proven expertise in supplier quality management, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis).
• Ability to work closely with suppliers and provide practical, shop-floor-level solutions to improve quality and operational performance.
