Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Working with Maintenance to support machinery and equipment maintenance procedures and schedules and cleanup routines for workstations to ensure that production is uninterrupted
  • Analyze inventory activities and ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained in order to run production to plan
  • Communicate with the VP of Operations to provide status updates, production goals, concerns in order to develop problem resolution
  • Monitor efficiencies within departments, such as manpower demand, overtime needs and adherence to delivery schedules to meet agreed to customer standards
  • Direct safety training programs and safety meetings to ensure compliance to all government and company policies
  • Develop employees with cross-training programs to expand the skill levels in order to run production if employees call off
  • Manage overall production plans to identify and solve problems that may impact production
  • Manage quality control programs to ensure quality meets/exceeds customer expectations
  • Coordinate with Plant, Service Center & Distribution Ops to ensure product is delivered on-time and in full
  • Assigns work to departments personnel in accordance with production schedule to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent
  • Delegates work according to employee’s abilities and skills
  • Evaluates employee’s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance
  • Provides developmental opportunities through identification of internal and external training opportunities
  • Creates opportunities for employee growth
  • Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors)

  • Physical Requirements: Position involves sitting, standing and/or movement, the ability to exert minimal force to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able reach and observe all areas of the plant.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions – heat, rain, cold, etc.

Required Education/ Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in leading a component assembly manufacturer
  • Minimum 5 years experience in component production management or equivalent assembly industry
  • Supervisory experience in manufacturing environment preferred

Required Licensing, Registration And/or Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

  • Leadership knowledge: Coaching, mentoring, performance review, safety leadership
  • Continuous Improvement: Process review, lean process
  • Production knowledge: scheduling the work, planning machine maintenance
