As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you care for, whether in a group home setting or through home community care. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals with autism or memory care needs by implementing personalized care plans.
- Engage clients in social activities and promote their independence while ensuring safety.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with other caregivers and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in group home settings or home community care is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices and ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Certification in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
