What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Accountant position at Innovative Artists?
We are a leading full-service talent agency based in Los Angeles, representing top-tier talent across film, television, digital media, and branding. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Jr. Accountant to join our Accounting team. The Jr. Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting reporting activities for the agency. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparing and maintaining financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and expense reports
- Perform data entry and update accounting spreadsheets and databases
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements
- Verify accuracy of financial documents and resolve discrepancies
- Help prepare tax documents and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
- Collaborate with the accounting team on audits and budgeting tasks
Skills required for the position are but not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in entertainment, media, or talent agency environments.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Agillink or similar accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Discretion in handling sensitive financial and client information.
- Experience working with client trust accounts or talent commission structures.
- Familiarity with union regulations (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA) and industry-specific billing standards.
This position is not remote, they will report directly to the Head of the Accounting Department and must be comfortable as a team player with fellow team members. Wage $75,000-$85,000 depending on experience.
