We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team at our healthcare facility. The Medication Technician will be responsible for assisting in the administration and distribution of medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality care to our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the administration and distribution of medications according to physician orders and facility policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and resident response
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects to medications
- Report any concerns or changes in resident condition to the licensed nurse
- Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and medication storage areas
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents during medication administration
- Assist with other tasks as requested by nursing staff
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medication Technician training program or certification
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
