Title: Controller – Healthcare Staffing (Innovative Anesthesia Staffing)
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Reports to: Founders
Innovative Anesthesia Staffing is a rapidly growing, multi-state healthcare staffing firm. We specialize in placing medical professionals across hospital systems nationwide. We are seeking a highly operational, hands-on Controller to build and own our financial infrastructure. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, margin optimization, cash flow management, and developing systems that enable scalable growth.
Financial Operations
- Own monthly close process and financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within QuickBooks Online
- Oversee AP/AR, contractor payments, and expense management
- Coordinate with external CPA for tax and audit readiness
Margin & Performance Analytics
- Build and maintain margin reporting by:
- Contractor
- Facility
- Contract
- Analyze bill rate vs pay rate spreads and identify optimization opportunities
- Monitor profitability across all revenue streams (regular hours, OT, call stipends)
Cash Flow Management
- Develop rolling cash flow forecasts
- Manage working capital (AR collections, AP timing)
- Improve cash conversion cycle
Systems & Process Development
- Design and implement scalable financial systems and workflows
- Evaluate and implement SaaS tools where appropriate
- Partner with leadership to develop internal performance tracking tools
Strategic Support
- Support pricing decisions and contract negotiations
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities and acquisitions
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of accounting/finance experience
- Experience as Controller or senior accounting lead
- Strong preference for healthcare staffing, locum tenens, or professional services
- Deep experience with QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Experience building financial models and dashboards
Preferred
- Experience with multi-state operations
- Experience with staffing business operations
- Familiarity with contractor-based workforce models
- Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
