Job Summary
The Assistant Dean of Students plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and engaging educational environment within our school organization. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing student affairs, promoting student success, and ensuring the implementation of policies that enhance the overall student experience. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to foster a supportive learning environment with high standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise our In-School Reflection Room for students who need a break before joining the learning environment.
- Collaborate and communicate with faculty and staff on issues or conflicts students may have with one another.
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and positive role model to students.
- Provide open and frequent communication to parents and guardians about student behaviors and expectations.
- Must be able to use online software and fill out data forms for students and staff.
- Must be organized and keep student records up to date.
- Must be able to work with students and provide them with guidance and support.
- Must be able to enforce school wide behavior policies with consistency and fairness.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to share information with parents and staff members.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all students' academic and personal success.
- Preferred experience working with school age children.
- Have experience implementing behavior policies.
- Must follow school wide expectations and policies.
- Demonstrated change management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
