Now Hiring: VDC Engineer
We’re looking for a motivated VDC Engineer to join our team and help drive innovation across construction projects through advanced modeling, coordination, and field technology solutions. This role plays a key part in streamlining workflows, improving collaboration, and enhancing VDC utilization from preconstruction through project delivery.
What You’ll Do
Model Development & Coordination
- Support development and coordination of VDC models with increasing independence
- Ensure constructability and alignment with field conditions
- Escalate complex coordination issues as needed
Field & Project Team Support
- Provide hands-on field support including execution planning, quantity takeoffs, and constructability reviews
- Develop visualizations, schedule phasing (4D), and logistics plans
- Utilize LiDAR scanning, 360° photo documentation, and drone technology
VDC Tools & Workflow Application
- Apply 3D, 4D, and 5D VDC tools to improve project workflows
- Create and maintain models, renderings, and simulations
- Identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project teams, preconstruction, and operations
- Build strong relationships with field and office personnel
- Help drive VDC adoption across all project phases
- Participate and lead coordination meetings
Documentation & Data Management
- Manage RFIs, ASIs, and digital documentation workflows
- Maintain organized, accessible project data
- Track and report key project metrics
Training & Standards Development
- Provide basic training and support on VDC tools and workflows
- Contribute to VDC standards, best practices, and training materials
Technology & Innovation
- Research and test emerging VDC technologies to streamline processes
- Assist with implementation of new tools and workflows
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Internship or experience supporting VDC in construction projects preferred
- Familiarity with using reality capture data (point clouds, lidar, etc.)
Skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Strong problem-solving mindset
Technology
- Working knowledge of Autodesk tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Familiarity with VDC tools (SketchUp, Fuzor, Procore, Adobe Suite, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
