Controls Engineer
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Controls Engineer. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting control systems, automation and instrumentation across multiple manufacturing facilities, with approximately 25% travel.
Due to the nature of the business, we can only consider US Citizens / Green card holders. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
The role
- Design, program, commission and support PLC, DCS, SCADA and HMI systems
- Work with DeltaV and associated instrumentation
- Troubleshoot and optimise control systems to improve safety, reliability and performance
- Lead control system changes through the Management of Change (MOC) process
- Support capital projects from design through commissioning and handover
- Develop control system standards, documentation and cybersecurity practices
- Support historians and automation data integrations
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and IT/OT teams
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities
- Provide technical guidance, training and mentoring
We're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5 years' experience with instrumentation and control systems
- 3 years' experience working with contractors
- Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI systems, ideally including DeltaV
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable supporting multiple facilities and travelling approximately 25%
