Instructional Designer (Contract) – Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Innovate Consulting is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer for one of our global food and beverage industry clients. This is a contract-based, onsite opportunity located in Dallas, Texas, supporting enterprise-wide learning and development initiatives through the design, development, and administration of digital learning content. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, learning management systems, and e-learning development, with the ability to balance learning content creation and platform administration in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Platform Administration (60%)
- Build, configure, and maintain learning content within the organization's learning platform, including:
- Courses and learning objects
- Learning paths and curricula
- Virtual and instructor-led training programs
- Upload, organize, test, and validate SCORM-based content to ensure proper functionality and learner experience.
- Manage course settings, enrollments, permissions, and learner access.
- Maintain content organization, naming conventions, and quality standards across the learning platform.
- Support ongoing updates, enhancements, and content revisions.
- Troubleshoot content and platform-related issues and collaborate with technical teams when necessary.
- Maintain documentation, build standards, and governance processes.
- Ensure content structure supports reporting, tracking, and learning analytics.
Instructional Design & Content Development (40%)
- Design and develop engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Create digital learning content including:
- Interactive learning activities
- Assessments and knowledge checks
- Structured learning pathways and programs
- Convert existing training materials into effective digital learning experiences.
- Develop content with clear learning objectives, logical flow, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information, validate content, and ensure accuracy.
- Lead content review sessions and facilitate stakeholder discussions.
- Continuously improve learning content based on feedback, performance metrics, and business needs.
- Ensure a consistent and high-quality learner experience across all training materials.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, learning operations, or related fields.
- Experience working within Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience developing and managing SCORM-based learning content.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and content management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the confidence to lead meetings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 360Learning and/or SAP SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
- Experience building both native LMS content and SCORM-based courses.
- Familiarity with learning analytics, reporting, and content performance measurement.
- Experience supporting learning initiatives within large enterprise organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
