Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Employment Type: Direct Hire - Onsite

Salary: $120-$130K 10% bonus

Innovar Group is recruiting a hands-on Regional Accounting Manager to support a large-scale, project-based construction operation. This leader will oversee regional accounting activities, financial reporting, internal controls, project accounting, billing, payroll, and cash-management processes while partnering closely with operations and project leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day regional accounting operations, including project accounting, payroll, billing, cash application, and month-end close.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, WIP schedules, and financial support documentation.
• Partner with project controls, FP&A, and operations to maintain accurate job costing, revenue recognition, margin reporting, and percent-complete reporting.
• Ensure appropriate project setup, cost coding, revenue controls, and accounting standards across active projects.
• Monitor AR, billing issues, cash flow, and aging; escalate risks and drive timely resolution.
• Strengthen internal controls, support audits, and identify opportunities to improve or standardize processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting and project-accounting team members.
• Provide practical financial guidance to project managers and regional leadership.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience in a project-based environment; construction, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of job-cost accounting, WIP, percent-complete reporting, and construction revenue recognition.
• Prior leadership experience across accounting, billing, payroll, or project-accounting functions.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
